Colin Burroughs, PA-C, MPAS, is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology. He graduated from the University of Nebraska, attending the Army’s Joint Service Physician Assistant Program with a Masters in Physician Assistant Medicine. He has over 12 years of experience in general and surgical dermatology. He is well-versed in the diagnosis and treatment of all skin conditions and the prevention of skin cancer. He also provides a variety of cosmetic procedures in addition to individual skincare regimens. He is passionate about helping his patients invest in practicing good skin care, prevention of skin cancer and his philosophy is always to make his patients part of the solution.

 

Colin Burroughs, MS, PA-C

Colin enlisted in the army in 1991 at the age of 19. He was always interested in medicine, so he applied and was selected to the University of Nebraska’s Joint Service Physician Assistant Program in 1999. Upon graduation, he was awarded a Bachelors Degree in Physician Assistant studies and then earned a Masters also from the University of Nebraska. After 15 years of active-duty service and multiple deployments, he exited the Army, joined the West Virginia Army National Guard, and began a new career as a Dermatology Physician Assistant in West Virginia. In 2018, Colin accepted a highly coveted physician assistant position for the Unites States Special Operations Forces Command (USSOCOM) in sunny Tampa, Florida. He gladly accepted and worked in the USSOCOM Medical Clinic for two years, earning the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit for his exemplary contribution to the United States Army Medical Department. In 2020, Colin was appointed Chief of Medical Operations at the 6th Ranger Training Battalion Troop Medical Clinic on Camp James Rudder, Eglin Air Force Base. He honorably retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army in 2022.
Colin joined Dr. Tina Venetos at North Shore Dermatology Center in early 2023. He is looking forward to serving the people of Chicago land and surrounding areas and both he and his wife are excited to make Illinois their forever home.

Colin is active in professional societies, including the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Florida Society of Dermatology PAs, and Florida Association of Physician Assistants. He has also supported medical education by serving as a preceptor for the West Virginia Osteopathic School of Medicine.
