Clarence William Brown Jr., is a Board Certified Dermatologist, Mohs Micrographic Surgery Specialist. Dr. Brown joined Northshore Dermatology Center in October 2018.
Residing in Chicago since 1995, he completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and his residency in dermatology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukeโs Medical Center. Dr. Brown completed a skin cancer fellowship in Mohs Micrographic and Reconstructive Surgery at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Upon completion, Dr. Brown returned to Chicago, creating a center devoted to skin cancer diagnosis and treatment: Advanced Skin and Mohs Surgery Center. In August 2001, Dr. Brown accepted the position as Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center where he worked jointly with Advanced Skin and Mohs Surgery Center.
Dr. Brown is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the sole professional organization of physicians who have extensive training and experience in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
In addition, Dr. Brown is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Michigan Medical Society, the Illinois State Medical Society, having served on the Board of Trustees; member of the Chicago Medical Society, having served as Secretary and President. In addition, Dr. Brown has served on numerous committees and task-forces for these organizations.
