Amy Brownlee is a board certified physician assistant recognized by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of Illinois. Amy has received specialized training in dermatology and is qualified to perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluation, diagnosis and treatment, including prescribing medications, performing procedures and skin cancer treatment. She also has advanced training and expertise in cosmetic dermatologic procedures including laser surgery, Botox injections, facial fillers and Kybella.
Amy completed her undergraduate training at The Ohio State University achieving a Bachelor of Science in Allied Medicine. She worked as a Registered Dietitian prior to pursuing her training as a Physician Assistant. She graduated from the Physician Assistant program at George Washington University in 2001 and received a Master of Health Science degree. Amy has experience in internal medicine as well as dermatology and has specialized in dermatology since 2003.
Amy joined Dr.Venetos in 2008 with prior dermatology experience in Austin, Texas and downtown Chicago. Amy is comfortable treating all types of adult and pediatric dermatologic patients and believes in patient collaboration and education for skin health. Amy also relies on her internal medicine background to understand the whole patient including underlying illness and medications that may affect the skin. Amy has a keen interest in aesthetics and surgical dermatology as well, and continues to add new techniques and updates to her wealth of experience.
Amy is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She attends medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology conferences regularly to remain on the cutting edge of treatments available for her patients.
